DELOITTE GREENHOUSE

The Deloitte Greenhouse is an innovation hub based in Auckland. The room’s interior space encourages creative thinking however the corridor entrance leading to the room did not. There was an opportunity to create a large wall graphic that would build anticipation and give the viewer an idea of what the room was all about – inspiration and thinking differently in order to solve business problems. I created an illustrated 9m mural titled ‘the garden wall’ to both educate and inspire viewers, creating an atmosphere that matched that of the interior space of the room.

In order to create something inspirational that also felt kiwi, I created a grapevine of illustrated motifs and symbols that featured in the stories of Famous New Zealanders. The green leaf elements expanded from the Greenhouse logo become text bubbles to explain the stories and quotes of these kiwis. On first glance, the wall appears as a simple organic free flowing composition, but on closer inspection the stories and impact these New Zealanders have made through innovative thinking becomes clear.
